Myth: Talking about MH will make it worse. Fact: Admitting that you have problem and discussing your feelings is the first step to overcoming your problems. Myth: Real men don't cry. Fact: Crying is a healthy response and men cry just like every one else (not crying is a unhealthy response) Myth: People with mental illness are violent and dangerous. Fact: People with mental illness are no more violent than the rest of the population. People with mental illness are more likely to be a victim of violence.
Myth: People with mental illness are weak and should just snap out of it. Fact: Mental illness is not a weakness, it's a serious health disorder that requires professional treatment.
Myth: Mental illness only happens to certain people "not me". Fact: Mental illness can happen to anyone.
